Reverence Community
Reverence is the newest village in the affluent master-planned community of Summerlin, located in the Las Vegas Valley of Nevada. Its grand opening was held on June 10, 2017, at which time the public was invited to view six new home collections available for purchase. Built by Pulte Homes, Reverence is located on 300 elevated acres west of the 215 beltway and is surrounded by West Lake Mead Blvd. on the south and Cheyenne Avenue on the north.
Reverence offers a wide variety of different home types consisting of transitional and contemporary designs inspired by Craftsman, Prairie, Hacienda, Farmhouse and Desert Contemporary styles and offering 23 consumer inspired floorplans. Unlike some master-planned communities in the Southern Nevada region, Reverence caters to both upscale buyers and those whose budgets are in the middle class range.
One side of the spectrum, Reverence offers smaller dwellings touted as ideal for families just starting out or older couples without children; these feature dwellings in both the one and two story range offering approximately 1,579 to 2,806 square feet in floor space. In contrast, more extravagant luxury homes are available for affluent individuals and families in a gated community; these take the form of single and two story homes and estates, and range from approximately 2,156 to 4,791 square feet in size.
There are numerous amenities available to residents of Reverence, including several miles of walking trails that are interwoven throughout the community; an eight-acre park that includes an amphitheater, walking track, volleyball, basketball and tennis courts; and a 16,000-square-foot indoor/outdoor recreation facility with state-of-the-art fitness center, outdoor resort and lap pools, and pickle ball and tennis courts, accessible to residents within the guard gate and considered to be the centerpiece of Reverence.
As it is located within Summerlin, Reverence residents have access to its public amenities as well, such as Summerlin’s nine golf courses, over a dozen houses of worship, numerous shopping centers, medical and cultural facilities, business parks and 26 private schools and public (served by the Clark County School District).
Situated within the Mojave Desert, Reverence has a typically very hot climate, but one that is nonetheless cooler than elsewhere in Las Vegas due to its high elevation – an average of 3,200 feet above sea level – compared to elsewhere in the region with comparatively low dew points and humidity throughout the year. Winters yield an average area temperature of approximately 60 degrees, with little-to-no snowfall; spring averages 60 to 80 degrees, depending on the month, and summers can exceed 100 degrees during the July and August months.
The village name, Reverence, is inspired by the views afforded by the Red Rock Canyon which forms the village’s backdrop; because of the canyon’s proximity, additional development upon the community is not possible, which is used as a selling point to prospective homeowners. In addition, the closeness of Red Rock Canyon affords residents with ample access to additional outdoor sporting activities such as hiking, rock climbing, mountain and road biking, horseback riding, and more.
Summerlin, and in turn, Reverence, was developed by The Howard Hughes Corporation, which owns, manages and develops commercial, residential and mixed-use real estate throughout the U.S.
